How to split your audio

01 / The workflow
01

Choose your recording

Select an audio file from your device. MP3 and WAV are good starting points; support for other formats depends on your browser.

02

Set the cut

Choose equal parts and enter seconds per clip, or select a start and end time to extract one passage.

03

Save the clips

Download the ZIP and unzip it to find numbered WAV files. The last equal-length clip may be shorter.

A practical exampleA 10-minute recording split every 120 seconds produces five WAV files. A 10-minute 30-second recording produces five 2-minute files and one 30-second file.

100 MB input limit. Decoded audio uses more memory than the original file; long recordings may exceed your device’s capacity.

Audio splitting vs. stem separation

This tool cuts along the timeline. It does not separate vocals, drums, bass, or other instruments.

What happens to audio quality?

The browser decodes the input and exports 16-bit PCM WAV at its decoded sample rate. This is not a bit-for-bit MP3 cut. WAV output can be much larger than the source.

Choose useful cut points

Equal parts can cut through a word or sentence. Use the time-range mode when the exact start and end of a passage matter.

Questions, answered.

04 / FAQ
Can I split an MP3 file?

Yes, if your browser can decode it. The downloaded clips are WAV files, even when the source is MP3.

Can I split audio without uploading it?

Yes. Audio decoding and export happen on your device. The tool does not send your recording to a processing server.

Does this export MP3?

No. This release exports 16-bit PCM WAV. Use a separate encoder if you need MP3 output.

Why does a large recording fail?

Decoded audio needs substantially more memory than compressed audio. Try a shorter source, close other tabs, or use a desktop browser.

Can I remove vocals?

No. Cutting a recording into time segments and separating musical stems are different operations.
